From March 25, 2024, all self-contained drinking water coolers in India must be ISI Certified under the Indian Standard IS 1475 (Part 1):2001. This is a health-saving step by the Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).

Nothing in this Order shall apply to goods or articles manufactured domestically for export. The implementation date for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises is June 25, 2024.

Any person who contravenes the provisions of this order shall be punishable under the provisions of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
