End-use application	Steel wire for staples, pins, and clips is a specialized type of steel wire used in the manufacturing of fasteners and fastening devices. These fasteners are widely used in various industries and applications for joining or securing materials together.

The Ministry of Steel, Government of India, has taken a significant step towards ensuring Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards in the manufacturing and importation of various goods. In line with this objective, a recent QCO has been introduced to regulate the “Specification for Steel Wire for Staples, Pins and Clips.” This product falls under the mandatory BIS-ISI Mark certification scheme (also known as Scheme-I of Schedule II). Manufacturers and importers must obtain a valid license by the specified deadline. Non-compliance will lead to the prohibition of importing, manufacturing or selling these goods in the Indian market.

Its implementation is designed to safeguard consumers, promote standardization, maintain public health and safety, facilitate international trade, and drive economic growth.
