TEC Introduces Provisional MTCTE Certification Rules
TEC has recently approved the criteria for issuing provisional certificates under MTCTE for telecom equipment with specialised test requirements. Below are the criteria for Equipment to qualify and apply for provisional certification:
S. No. |
Details of Telecom Equipment |
Criteria |
1 | Router | 1. Operates in single or three-phase with current requirement ≥ 32A
Or 2. Operates on 48VDC with current requirement ≥ 100A |
2 | LAN Switch | |
3 | DWDM Equipment | |
4 | Satellite Communication Equipment | |
5 | Infiniband Switch |
Key Requirements:
- Test reports for EMI/EMC and Safety must be from ILAC-accredited labs (excluding border-sharing nations).
- Technical parameter test reports from ILAC-accredited labs (excluding border-sharing nations) OR self-declaration of conformity (SDOC) by OEM are accepted.
- If SDOC is submitted for technical parameters, those parameters will be exempted, and a two-year provisional certificate will be issued.
- Test reports must be less than two years old at the time of submission.
- Voltage, current, and power specifications must be included in the Bill of Materials (BOM) file.
Future Compliance:
If ITSARs for any of these products are not yet notified, applicants must apply for conversion to an integrated MTCTE certificate (which includes security testing) when the ITSARS have been issued.
This update ensures a streamlined process for telecom equipment compliance while maintaining high standards of safety and performance.
