NCCS Issues Revised Notification on Security Certification for ONT & OLT Devices
The National Centre for Communication Security (NCCS) has issued a notification concerning the Security Certification of Optical Network Terminal (ONT) and Optical Line Terminal (OLT) products under the ComSec scheme. This new notification replaces the one issued on December 6th, 2024.
Key Points of this notification:
- The voluntary security certification (VSC) regime has been extended till 31st August 2025.
- No administrative or Security Test Evaluation Fee will be levied during this period.
- The date for the Mandatory Security Certification has also been extended. Starting 1st September 2025, mandatory certification for compliance to the ITSAR under the ComSec scheme will apply to these products.
For Interested Companies:
- OEMS, importers, dealers, and users of telecom equipment can apply for the Voluntary Security Certificate via the online portal: https://www.mtcte.tec.gov.in
This is a crucial update for ensuring compliance and security within the telecom industry.
