NCCS Extends Voluntary Security Certification for ONTOLT

NCCS Extends VSC for ONT & OLT Products till Dec 2025

In continuation of the earlier notification dated 07.04.2025, the National Centre for Communication Security (NCCS) has released a new notification regarding the PON, ONT and OLT products’ security certification.

The key points of this document are:

  • Optical Network Terminal (ONT) and Optical Line Terminal (OLT) products will remain under the Voluntary Security Certification (VSC) regime until 31st December 2025.
  • No administrative or Security Test Evaluation fees will be charged during this period.
  • Starting 1st January 2026, ONT and OLT products must be mandatorily certified for compliance with ITSAR under the ComSec scheme. 

Interested OEMs/importers/dealers/users of telecom equipment may apply for a Voluntary Security Certificate through an online portal accessible at https://www.mtcte.tec.gov.in
