It is mandatory for all nuts, bolts and fasteners manufactured or imported for sale or use in India to be ISI-certified from 𝟐𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒.
The goods or articles listed in Column 1 of the Table below must meet the Indian Standard specified in Column 2 of the Table and display the Standard Mark under a license issued by the Bureau by Scheme-1, Schedule-II, of the Bureau’s Conformity (Assessment) Regulations of 2018. This is a revolutionary step towards the safety of the citizens.
Please note that nothing in this order shall apply to goods or articles:
🔰Imported as a part of any finished good, sub-assembly, or component.
🔰Imported by domestic manufacturers for manufacturing products for export.
This shall come into force with effect from six months from the date of publication of notification.
Furthermore, for small and micro enterprises, the enforcement dates are:
✅ Small Industry: 21st April 2024
✅ Micro Industry: 21st July 2024
However, any person who fails to adhere to this Order will be subject to the penalties specified in the Bureau of India Standards Act 2016.
