Implementation Timeline Extended for Cross Recessed Screws

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has officially extended the implementation timeline for the revised standard Cross Recessed Screws (Quality Control) Order, 2025.

• Originally scheduled for implementation on 1st March 2025

• Now extended to 1st November 2025 – an 8-month extension on the implementation.

What does this mean?

Manufacturers, importers, and stakeholders of all types of Cross-recessed screws now have additional time to align with the specified Indian Standards (IS 18471 series and others). All licensees and applicants are advised to take note and align their compliance and testing accordingly.
