Deadline Extended for Household Zig-Zag Sewing Machine

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has extended the implementation deadline for the revised IS 15449 (Part 1): 2024, covering household zig-zag sewing machines, to 12 February 2026, from the earlier deadline of 12 May 2025.

Key Updates:

• The earlier IS 15449 (part 1): 2004 will run concurrently with the new standard until the revised date.

• The extension follows industry requests for additional transition time to adapt manufacturing and compliance processes.
