Deadline Extended for Annual Returns under PWM Rules

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) has announced an extension for filing your Annual Returns under the Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2023, for the financial year 2024–25.

New Deadline: 31st July 2025

Who does this apply to?

• Producers

• Importers

• Brand Owners (PIBOs)

• Plastic Waste Processors (PWPs)

Why this matters:

This extension offers stakeholders additional time to:

• Gather accurate data on plastic waste generation and processing.

• Complete and verify annual return submissions.

• Ensure compliance and avoid non-filing penalties.

To make the most of this extension, we strongly encourage all PIBOs and PWPs to plan ahead and complete their filings well before the new deadline.
