Under the E-waste Management Rules, 2022, recyclers now must obtain EPR Certificates through the EPR Portal with CPCB providing an interim arrangement to generate and transfer EPR-End-Product-Credits-Certificates to producers.

Recyclers are also required to maintain records of their transactions of sales and purchase procurement of raw materials, sales of end producers, and EPR Certificate transactions in Excel sheets.

As part of this interim arrangement, the CPCB will facilitate EPR obligations, and producers & and recyclers will be solely responsible for malpractices/violations.
