The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has officially published a notification (Gazette of India, Extraordinary, dated 20th May 2025) announcing the establishment of new and revised Indian Standards for multiple product categories.

This update impacts all manufacturers, importers, and suppliers who are currently manufacturing or planning to manufacture products falling under these standards.

Updates:

11 Indian Standards have been revised/established to align with updated international standards (ISO/IEC).

Some of the important standards are below:

What Manufacturers Need to Do:

  1. Identify if any of your products fall under any of the notified standards.
  2. Coordinate with BIS-recognized labs and certification bodies to update test reports and marking labels.
