BIS Extends OTR Implementation Deadline Under Scheme-X

The Ministry of Heavy Industries, Government of India, has officially extended the implementation timeline for the BIS Scheme-X (Omnibus Technical Regulation) Order, 2024.

New Date of Implementation: 

  • 1st September 2026
    (Extended from the earlier date of 28th August 2025) 

This regulation covers a broad list of machinery and electrical equipment, along with their assemblies, sub-assemblies, and components. As per this order, these products will require mandatory BIS certification under Scheme-X before entering or being sold in the Indian market.
