COMSEC (Security) Certification Update for EoS and EoL Products

NCCS Updates Security Certification for EoS/EoL Items

The National Centre for Communication Security (NCCS) recently announced the security certification procedure for products listed by the manufacturer as end-of-sale (EoS) or end-of-life (EoL).

No security certification is required for products that have been classified as EoS before the mandatory date of certification. For such EoS products, the manufacturer should have no plans for further support in terms of software or hardware modifications.

If any modifications are made to these EoS products, the manufacturer must apply for a Security Certificate that will be valid until the product reaches EoL and submit internal test reports demonstrating compliance with the ITSAR.

Security certifications are also not required for products that are declared EoL before the mandatory date of certification, and no further modifications are proposed by the OEM.
