IS/ IEC 62368-1 Second Revision Open for Public Comments

The Indian Standard IS/IEC 62368-1, which is currently in its second revision, is open for public comments as of October 16, 2023.

This standard has been developed by the Technical Committee LITD 07 of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). Originally published in 2018, it was initially identical to the IEC 62368-1: 2014.

The first revision, released in 2020, aligned with IEC 62368-1: 2018. The latest, second revision of the Indian standard now aligns with IEC 62368-1: 2023.

This second revision includes significant technical changes, including:

1. Requirements for external circuits: A new table has been Inserted

2. Requirements for openings in fire enclosures: Revised

3. Requirements for liquid-filled components: Revised

4. Battery charging requirements: Revised

Note: – The Technical content of this document has not been enclosed as these are identical to the corresponding IEC Standard. For details, please refer to IEC 62368-1:2023 or kindly contact BIS. The last date for submitting comments is 15th Dec 2023
