The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers made the ISI Mark mandatory for various woven sacks on December 6, 2023.

Mandatory ISI Mark for HDPE and PP Woven Sacks for Fertilizers Packaging 

Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers announced a mandatory ISI mark for High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) /Polypropylene (PP) Woven Sacks for Packaging Fertilizers.

The Bureau of Indian Standards shall be the certifying and enforcing authority and shall conform to the corresponding Indian Standard specified below.

This order will come into force from June 6, 2024.

Mandatory ISI Mark for HDPE/PP Woven Sacks for Packaging of 50 kg Cement 

In this quality control order, the ISI mark is made mandatory for High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE)/ Polypropylene (PP) Woven Sacks for Packaging of 50 kg Cement.

On its publication in the Official Gazette, it comes into force after one hundred and eighty days.

The Bureau of Indian Standards shall be responsible for certifying and enforcing the compliance of the goods or articles specified with the corresponding Indian Standard specified below.

Following the publication in the Official Gazette, it will become effective after 180 days. 

Also, the Bureau of Indian Standards shall be responsible for certifying and enforcing compliance with the Indian Standards specified below.

High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Polypropylene (PP) Woven Sacks for Packaging 25 kg Polymer Materials need to carry a mandatory ISI mark.

After the publication in the Official Gazette, it will go into effect one hundred and eighty days after that date.

The Bureau of Indian Standards shall verify and enforce compliance with the Indian Standard set forth below for specified goods or articles.

Mandatory ISI Mark for PP/HDPE Laminated Woven Sacks

Polypropylene (PP)/High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Laminated Woven Sacks for Mail Sorting, Storage, Transport and Distribution need to carry a mandatory ISI Mark. 

The law will take effect one hundred and eighty days after it is published in the Official Gazette. 

As the certifying and enforcement authority, the Bureau of Indian Standards shall ensure that the goods or articles specified conform to the corresponding Indian Standard defined below.
