Scope  This standard covers the requirements for solid drawn (seamless) copper and copper alloy tubes of outside diameter 5 mm to 80 mm both inclusive, for use in condensers and heat exchangers.

Produced to high standards, these tubes ensure reliable and efficient performance, making them a preferred choice for critical heat transfer applications.

The Ministry of Commerce & Industry, specifically the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Government of India, regularly issues Quality Control Orders (QCOs) under the aspect of Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) to regulate various types of goods imported into or manufactured locally within the country. The objective is to foster a safe and quality-centric environment nationwide.     

In line with this objective, a recent QCO has been issued to regulateSolid drawn copper and copper alloy tubes for condensers and heat exchangers”. This product falls under the mandatory BIS-ISI Mark certification scheme (Scheme-I of Schedule II), making it mandatory for manufacturers and importers to obtain a valid license by a specified deadline. Failure to comply will lead to the prohibition of importing, manufacturing or selling these goods in the Indian market.
